About
Trifon Andreev is an independent type designer, Cyrillic consultant and researcher. Based in Berlin and Düsseldorf, Germany, he graduated in 2024 with a Master of Arts degree in design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, where he attended the type design courses of Prof. Luc(as) de Groot.

In addition to his retail catalogue, Trifon crafts custom typefaces for brands, institutions and cultural spaces. His services range from in-depth research and expert consulting to the development of custom typographic solutions as a foundation of contemporary and distinctive visual identities.

As a Cyrillic consultant, Trifon specializes in reviewing and mastering Cyrillic typefaces as well as expanding typefaces with Cyrillic support. His expertise has resulted in numerous collaborations with renowned type designers and prestigious type foundries.

Throughout his type practice he questions the ongoing Cyrillic conventions and points out the rationality behind the so-called humanistic Cyrillic letterfroms as an evolutionary step for the historical development of the script.
