1. Storage Duration and Deletion of Personal Data

Unless otherwise described, the personal data stored will be erased as soon as their purpose is no longer required and there are no legal obligations to retain. If the data are not erased because they are needed for other legally permitted purposes, their processing is restricted. This means the data are blocked and not used for any other purposes. For instance, this applies to data that must be retained for legal reasons, such as tax laws.

2. Rights of users and data subjects

Users and data subjects have the right:
  • to be provided with information about the data related to the subject according to Art. 15 GDPR;
  • to request a rectification of incorrect or incomplete data related to the data subject according to Art. 16 GDPR;
  • to demand the deletion of data according to Art. 17 GDPR;
  • or, alternatively, the restriction of data processing according to Art. 18 GDPR.

To assert the rights mentioned above, please reach out to the responsible party using the contact details provided. In addition, users have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority.

Furthermore, the responsible party is required to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed of any corrections, deletions, or restrictions on processing, as stipulated in Articles 16, 17 Par. 1, and 18 of the GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if notification is impossible or would require disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, users retain the right to be informed about these recipients.

3. Recipients of Personal Data and Third Parties

Insofar as we are required to disclose personal data to other individuals or companies (processors or third parties) during the data processing process, such disclosures are made solely on the basis of our legitimate interests according to Art. 6, Par. 1 lit. f) GDPR (for example, when transmitting data to our hosting provider).

We offer our services on e-commerce online platforms operated by other service providers. In this context, in addition to our privacy notice, the privacy notices of the respective platforms apply. This is particularly relevant with regard to the measurement procedures and interest-based marketing used on the platforms. We use the platform Gumroad (gumroad.com). Please note, the privacy policy of Gumroad can be found at https://gumroad.com/privacy.

4.  Hosting, Collecting Access Data and Logfiles

Our hosting provider collects data (commonly referred to as server logs) for each access to the server hosting our services, including the IP address. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest under Article 6, Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. These data are retained for no longer than seven days and are then deleted. Data that need to be retained for evidential purposes are exempt from deletion until the case in question is fully resolved.

5. Contact

If you contact us via email, the data you provide will be exclusively used for the purpose of processing your request. By transmitting personal data with your message, we assume that you consent to their use according to Article 6, Par. 1, lit. a) GDPR. We review the personal data you submit through via email annually to assess the need for continued storage based on the legal grounds mentioned in this privacy policy. If no such need exists, the data will be deleted within one month.

6. Links

All external website links were thoroughly reviewed during the development of this website. At the time the links were created, no legal violations were identified. These are mostly websites that showcase our work (for example, our typefaces in particular in-use cases, or archived material from talks, guest lectures or presentations). However, we have no control over the content of the linked pages, as this falls under the responsibility of the respective service providers. Please note the respective privacy policies.

Links to Social Media (Facebook & Instagram)

Our website contains links to the Facebook and Instagram platforms. Clicking on these links will redirect you to the respective websites, where data may be collected by Facebook (Meta Platforms, Inc.) or Instagram (Meta Platforms, Inc.). These platforms are operated by third-party providers, and we have no control over the data collection and processing by Facebook or Instagram.

Please note that if you are logged into Facebook or Instagram while visiting our website, these platforms may associate your visit with your user account. The processing of personal data by Facebook and Instagram is subject to their respective privacy policies:

https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy/

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Facebook and Instagram to understand how they collect, use, and protect your data when interacting with their platforms.

This Privacy Policy is subject to change at any time. We recommend reviewing it regularly as we strive to provide the best possible user experience.
